If you’re interested in teaching photography, one question you might ask is: how do you know if a photographer is really that good? A great way to judge is by looking at their general work. Do their photos feel like snapshots or do they stand out and grab your attention?
I recently took a photo while walking down the street. It was just a quick snapshot, nothing special. But when you understand light, shape, style, and design, even a “snapshot” can turn into something spectacular. It’s all about knowing how to capture the moment and enhance it with editing.
Tonight, I’m teaching a class in San Antonio to about 100 photographers. The class will focus on how to photograph high school seniors correctly. I’m excited to help photographers learn how to create amazing images.
To capture a great senior portrait, you need to understand lighting, angles, and posing. It’s also important to know how to guide your subject to bring out their personality. And, of course, editing is crucial. The right Photoshop techniques can take a simple image and turn it into a masterpiece.
This class will be a fun experience. I can’t wait to share my tips with the photographers attending. They’ll learn how to create more than just snapshots—they’ll learn how to create images that truly stand out.
