Louisiana Alligator Art piece is my latest Art Print! The title is Alligator Intellect. Check it out…let me know what you think! I have several now with a total Louisiana Alligator Art theme!!!
How Was This Alligator Image Created
The process is quite remarkable! It’s kinda complicated and extremely long, but I’ll do my best to explain it.
It all starts with a title. As you already know, this Louisiana Alligator Art piece is titled “Alligator Intellect.” My wife Tammy loves alligators. She has a huge collection of skins, heads, trinkets, and books. So I dedicated this Louisiana art piece to her.
Once the title is set, I assemble all the elements into a cohesive display that tells a story. I also choose the camera angle, pick the right lens, and decide which direction the light will come from.
When everything is set up and ready, I turn off every light in the room. TOTAL DARKNESS!!! With the room dark, I open the camera shutter. Because the room stays dark, the digital sensor receives no light. It’s basically the same as leaving the shutter closed. At that point, I can walk in front of the camera and nothing records.
I told you this Louisiana Alligator Art piece gets complicated. Hahaha. Next, I use a special tiny flashlight that fits in my hand like an artist’s paint brush. With that tiny light, I “paint” the scene, the same way an artist applies oil paint or color to a canvas.
This part moves very slowly. I work it section by section, building the light exactly where I want it. This image took close to four hours to paint with light. Cool huh!!!
